Congress leader Kadfeen Choudhary on Friday underlined the need of rebuilding peoples trust in the institutions of democracy, stating that if the present situation is allowed to continue, it will plunge the state into uncertainty.
Talking to media at his Srinagar residence, the Congress leader said that it is high time that the BJP and PDP stop sermonising people and make themselves accountable to what they have done to them. He added that from unprecedented development deficit to rising joblessness, the two parties in the state vandalised the institutions of governance and democracy. He maintained when tall promises were broken without a single remorse by these political parties, mistrust between people and leaders took toll due to which the present wave of frustration and alienation is being witnessed all across.
Kadfeen said that it is Congress alone which is working to restore the secular character of the state and ensure equitable development in all the three regions of the state. He maintained that unlike other political parties of the state who want to keep the political pot boiling to reap the benefits, it is Congress that believes in harmony, tolerance and inclusivity of the state as well as of the country. He said that the people have this time resolved to defeat the insensitive and non- sensical elements who tried every attempt to divide communities on the basis of cast, ,creed and religion.
