The Army has been consistently looking after the Awaam of Kashmir and during tough times, it has provided humanitarian aid and assistance by various means. During one such incident at Baramulla, the Army extended a helping hand and provided immediate relief material – Ration, Blankets and other items, to the locals of Ganai Hamam Mohalla of Old Town Baramulla, whose houses were totally gutted in a fire incident, few days back. The Army also enquired about the problems and hardships of the locals and assured them of all possible assistance.
While in Widdipura, the Army has undertaken major rehabilitation efforts for the family of Md Sultan Wani, whose house got burnt on the night of 03rd January 2019. The family was provided with utensils and ration for cooking, milk for children and adequate clothing. The Army is maintaining close contact with the family in these tough times and providing them basic amenities on a routine basis. The Army has also carried out necessary coordination and liaison with the Civil Administration to expedite the case for their rehabilitation.
Also, on 03rd January, a tragic road accident took place near Sagribatpura, wherein a Car had rammed into the side wall fencing, leading to injuries to the passengers. Subsequently, the accident also led to choking of traffic on the road and heavy traffic congestion. The Quick Reaction Team of the Army swiftly rushed to the accident site along with its recovery vehicle which pulled out the car. A medical team from the Army also reached the spot and provided necessary medical assistance to the injured passengers.
At all these places, the locals deeply appreciated the sincere efforts of the Army, who is standing shoulder to shoulder with them during this hour of crisis and also extended their heartfelt gratitude for these humanitarian gestures.
