National Conference on Saturday held protest rallies across the Jammu division against recent decision of the State Administrative Council in declaring Jammu and Kashmir Bank as a Public Sector Undertaking.
At Jammu, a protest rally was taken out from Sher-e-Kashmir Bhavan with National Conference workers carrying the placards demanding immediate roll back of the decision for the larger interests of Jammu and Kashmir which enjoy special position.
The National Conference leaders staged sit-in dharna at heritage Raghunath Chowk and raised slogans against the decision.
The Speakers criticized the decision and expressed apprehensions that this will adversely impact the functioning of Jammu and Kashmir Bank and shake the confidence of its huge clientele.
The speakers also castigated the administration for eroding the special status of the state, saying such decisions are detrimental to the interests of the people.

Mr Ifktkair Choudhary, Mr Ashok Dogra, Mr Subash Mehra , Mr Shabeer Samyal, S. Tejinder Singh, S. Aman Chema, Ritesh Koul, Mr Nitish Gowsami, Mr Wasim, Mr Mudit Seth, Mr Mohit Mehra, Mr Vivek Gupta, Mr Dalbir Singh, Mr Sian Dass, S. At Samba, the speakers hoped that the Governor’s administration will desist from taking policy decisions, adding that these are the prerogatives of the elected democratic dispensations.
They expressed solidarity with the agitating J&K Bank employees and extended their support to their cause. They said the bank is institution of the people who are against the decision.

At Kishtwar former Minister of State for Home and MLC Mr Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo the SAC decision reflects the anti-people mindset of fiddling with the basic characters of the special status of the state.
Mr Kichloo said that the SAC decision has put a question mark on the special status of the state. He said all these attempts will be fought tooth and nail and nobody will be allowed to fiddle with the special entity of Jammu and Kashmir.
The protests were held at Poonch. Rajouri, Kathua, Samba, Ramban, Banihal, Udhampur, Billawar, Reasi , Gool-Gulabgarh, Bishnah , R.S Pura and other places of the Jammu division where the National Conference leaders presented memorandum to the authorities against the SAC decision and called for its immediate roll back.
