Army today paid befitting tribute to Late Sepoy Happy Singh who made the supreme sacrifice during Counter Terrorist operation on 27 September 2018 in Gazigund of Anantnag district wherein one terrorist was eliminated. In a solemn ceremony at BB Cantt, Lt Gen AK Bhatt, Chinar Corps Commander and all ranks, paid homage to the martyr on behalf of a proud nation. Mr Dilbag Singh, DGP J&K Police and representatives from various security agencies also joined in paying their last respects to the martyr.
Late Sep Happy Singh sustained bullet injury during the gun battle at Gazigund in Anantnag district. He was provided immediate first aid and evacuated to the 92 Base Hospital, but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
The martyr, Sep Happy Singh, was 24 years old and had joined the Army in 2012. He belonged to Village Ram Nagar of Bathinda District in Punjab and is survived by his parents, a brother and a sister.
The mortal remains of the martyr were flown for last rites to his native place where he would be laid to rest with full military honours. In this hour of grief, the Army stands in solidarity with the bereaved family of the martyr and remains committed to their dignity and well being.
