Shopian, 16 Dec 2016. Giving boost to the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan’ and to improve upon the general hygienic conditions, the civil administration and the Army Camp Maspur conducted a cleanliness drive with the locals at Kellar Hospital, Shopian. The drive was conducted as part of ‘Swachhata Pakhwada’ which culminated today.
Post the cleanliness drive, a lecture was organised to improve the hygiene and sanitation by Medical Officer of Sub District Hospital Kellar. Interaction with locals was also carried out to impress upon all to sustain this movement for the larger good of humanity. The authorities also recommended an incentive based scheme which promotes a healthy competition amongst various localities to maintain the hygiene of the area.
In a similar initiative in Budgam, The Army Camp of Hampur Lullipura in collaboration with District Educational Officer of Nagam handed over new toilet infrastructure including water connection and accessories to school authorities of Govt Girls’ Primary School, Gogajipathri. Numerous activities were organised under the fortnight Cleanliness campaign all across the Budgam district where volunteers came in large numbers in a clear indication of growing awareness of its importance towards a healthy tomorrow.
Mr Mohd Ramzan Wani, the ZEO Nagam was present along with the ZEPO, Mr Gh Mohiuddin Yatoo in the handing over function. They interacted with the school teachers and students and took their feedback on the project. He also spoke with students and motivated them to make the Swachta Abhiyaan a success by spreading the word in their respective villages.
